How can we help?

Questions about SleepTracker? Here are the most common ones. If you don't see your answer, email us — we read every message.

Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. SleepTracker can track your sleep using just your iPhone's motion sensor and microphone — set the phone on your mattress and tap "Track Sleep with iPhone." If you do own an Apple Watch, you can sync its more detailed data from Apple Health instead.
How do I use my Apple Watch with SleepTracker?
Wear your watch to bed with Apple's sleep tracking enabled (iPhone Watch app → Sleep → "Track Sleep with Apple Watch"). In the morning, open SleepTracker and tap "Sync from Apple Health" on the Today screen — your night's stages, heart rate, and HRV appear automatically.
Why are some metrics missing or showing "—"?
Heart rate, HRV, and blood oxygen come from an Apple Watch. iPhone-only tracking estimates your sleep phases from movement and sound, but can't measure those, so they show as "—." Blood oxygen and wrist temperature also require an Apple Watch Series 8 or later.
Does the microphone record me?
No. With your permission, the app samples the ambient sound level on your device to estimate snoring and room noise. Audio is analyzed in real time and is never recorded, saved, or uploaded — only a loudness number is kept.
Is my sleep data uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything stays on your iPhone. SleepTracker has no account and no servers, and never sends your health or sleep data off your device.
Is it really free?
Yes — free forever. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription, and no paywall.
How do I delete my data?
You can edit or delete individual nights inside the app. Deleting the app removes all SleepTracker data from your device. Data that originated in Apple Health is managed in Apple's Health app.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy, simply explained

Last updated: June 24, 2026. This policy applies to the SleepTracker iOS application published by Mark Utility Labs.

🔒

Short version: SleepTracker keeps your sleep and health data on your device. It reads from Apple Health only with your permission, uses the microphone on-device to estimate snoring (never recording audio), and never uploads your data or shows ads.

1. What data the app handles

SleepTracker works with sleep and wellness data so it can show your nightly analysis:

All of this is created and used on your device.

2. Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you connect Apple Health, the app reads your sleep analysis, heart rate, heart-rate variability, respiratory rate, and blood oxygen to display your sleep history. This data is read on-device and is not transmitted anywhere. You can review or revoke the app's access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → SleepTracker. SleepTracker does not write your health data to Apple Health (other than optional sample data you explicitly create yourself while testing the app).

3. Microphone

If you use iPhone sleep tracking, the app measures the ambient sound level to estimate snoring and room noise during the night. Audio is processed on-device in real time and is never recorded, stored, or uploaded — only a numeric loudness value is kept with your night's summary.

4. How your data is stored

Your sleep sessions and settings are stored locally on your device using the app's on-device storage. Deleting a night inside the app removes it, and uninstalling the app removes all SleepTracker data from your device.

5. What we do NOT collect

SleepTracker contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party tracking SDKs, and no user accounts. It does not make network requests that send your data, and it has no servers — your information never leaves your iPhone through the app.

6. Permissions

The app requests these system permissions, each only when you use the related feature:

All are optional; declining one simply disables that feature.

7. Children's privacy

SleepTracker is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
